Lessons from Canada

Again, while most foreign media are taking the superficial view that Canada has gone right-wing, a few insightful articles are popping up here and there, looking for the real story.

The Guarniad says it's time to stop using the US as a model for UK politics. There are more valuable lessons to be learned in Canada.

For a long time now, I've found the UK's preference for the USA over Canada more than disheartening. It's enough to make me wish the Queen was off our money. However, I blame Blair and the Shrub for this. Once they're out of office, perhaps the UK will remember, we were their friend first, and have been a better friend through all of history than the USA ever was.
